Misfit Farm’s Powdered Caramel is an isolated morph that was originally achieved by selective breeding. Stephanie Kreidler of Kreidler’s Critters conducted this powdered experiment with many different morphs that she raised, and the result was this beautiful caramel coloring that breeds true. Colors range from chocolate brown to a pale and powdered translucent coloring.

Isopods at Misfit Farms are captive-bred in a controlled environment, with a constant temperature range of 72-80 degrees, to ensure peak breeding potential and quality of life. They enjoy a daily cycle of simulated daylight and a period of darkness, so they will arrive to you ready to serve as a clean-up crew in your terrarium or as the perfect, tidy pet. We find that by keeping the isopods on a regular schedule, they experience less stress and less downtime needed to acclimate to their new surroundings. Additionally, the in-transit losses are minimal as we ship them in the same type of substrate they have in their enclosures, so they do not go into shock while bouncing around in a box.
