At Misfit Farms, we reuse and upcycle everything we can; our cardboard is no exception. In fact, shredded cardboard is a necessity when setting up a new worm farm and after you harvest castings as it provides a carbon food source, warm bedding, and helps balance pH levels. With isopods, cardboard is a natural source of cellulose and helps to even out moisture levels in their enclosure. With our carbon-rich bioactive substrate, we combined the best of both worlds; shredded cardboard and our bioactive soil composed of manure, compost, earthworm castings, kelp meal, and a dash of molasses (gets the microbes going crazy). We make each batch to order to ensure you get live bacteria (bioactive), so each bag will look different. Available in one or two-gallon increments.
