Tucked away in the Piney Woods of Deep East Texas, Misfit Farms Rabbitry is not your average rabbit ranch. We believe in doing things the natural way — with organic practices, a sense of humor, and a deep respect for our hoppy little herd.
We breed, raise, sell, and butcher high-quality hybrid rabbits — including the mighty Californian/New Zealand crosses, the heat-tolerant TAMUKs, and even some downright gorgeous purebred Californians that strut around like they own the place (they kind of do).
🏡 Life at Misfit Farms: Luxury Bunny Edition
Each rabbit lives in a spacious pen — no cramped condo living here. They’re fed twice daily like little kings and queens with:
- Organic fruits and veggies
- Wild forage gathered right from the farm (yes, we hand-pick weeds for them like it’s a Michelin-star salad bar)
- Premium protein pellets
- Fluffy timothy hay (the good stuff, not that dusty bargain bag nonsense)
In the scorching Texas summer, our bunnies stay cool with:
- Shade from trees, because we’re not monsters
- Pens facing north and east to avoid the devil’s afternoon sun
- Fans and ice blocks — yes, ice blocks, because our rabbits deserve AC-level comfort
- Cooling tiles so they can belly flop in style
And when they’re not living like spoiled forest spirits, they’re chewing on pumice stones, apple branches, and a variety of chew-safe woods to keep those ever-growing teeth in check. They also enjoy toys, tunnels, and playdates on the grass with their fellow floofs.

Most of our rabbits are laid-back, easy to handle, and love being doted on. A few of the OG rescue rabbits from the early days are still around, and they’ve got some spicy opinions — mostly about how they don’t like being touched before breakfast.
Our breeding stock is top-notch:
- Healthy does with plump dewlaps and consistently large litters
- Every mama is a fantastic mother (some even lecture us on parenting)
- Our bucks? Super friendly, big personalities, and always ready for a romantic encounter (in the most gentlemanly way possible, of course)
